When Sarah and her family built a large extension with lantern skylight and fabulous bi-fold doors opening into their south-facing garden, they were very much looking forward to more light inside the house and bringing the outdoors in. Little did they realise just how much heat would permeate into the new living and dining room extension, through all the new glass.

After trying unsuccessfully to get an appointment with one of the large national companies, Sarah was recommended Shaded Cube by local firm G&T blinds and Shutters and after an initial site visit and consultation, Sarah opted for a 6 metre awning to span the glass doors.

What did Sarah think of the service she received?

“Excellent! We dealt with Wendy and she was professional, friendly, prompt and not at all pushy. She offered us what we required and within the budget we specified. Additionally, she was realistic in the length of time she advised us for installation, which was around a month.”

So, is Sarah happy with the results?

“Definitely, the awning makes a huge difference! The living and dining area of the house used to get very hot. Having the awning out before we get home keeps the room a lot cooler. We also spend a lot more time sitting on the patio now.

It’s like having an extra room in the house. It feels like we have a room in our garden. Our awning is 6 metres wide x 3 metres deep so it provides lots of shade.”
